Giacomo Vaccaro was born in 1953 in Sassetta (province of Livorno). He graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. After moving to Livorno, he came to know Ferruccio Mataresi, his great mentor, and Giovanni March.
In Livorno, where he still lives and works, his paintings depict corners of the city, rural Tuscan landscapes and portraits.
