Athos Faccincani
Born in Peschiera del Garda in 1951, Athos Faccincani has undergone one of the most fascinating artistic evolutions on the contemporary scene. After an early expressionist and dramatic phase, focused on the marginalised and on human suffering, which earned him the title of Knight of the Italian Republic from Sandro Pertini, the artist made a radical turn in colour.
Leaving dark tones behind, Faccincani became the celebrated singer of light and colour, painting Mediterranean landscapes, lush gardens and seascapes full of joy of life. His works are on permanent display in galleries and museums around the world, from New York to Tokyo.
