I Colori della Terra Siciliana 2
I Colori della Terra Siciliana 2 (The Colours of the Sicilian Land 2) is an original artwork by Mario Trapani (abstract on Plexiglas, 30x30 cm).
Artist: Mario Trapani
Title: Astratto 2 – mixed media, one-of-a-kind piece
Technique: Abstract on Plexiglas
Size: 30x30 cm
Mario Trapani, a versatile artist – painter, sculptor and accomplished musician – captures the public's attention with the powerful expressiveness of the colours of the Sicilian land, blending techniques and materials. An instinctive artist who works without preparatory drawing, he conveys his emotions directly onto the canvas, drawing on both contemporary and ancient themes. Mark and pigment, instinct and research are the elements that define Mario Trapani's work. His palette reveals an alchemy capable of making reality indefinite. A soft, Pirandellian chaos of pigments blends with the material, breaking reality apart and turning the sky upside down, so that realism and abstraction merge into a single creative whole. In Mario Trapani's words, “the emotions and sensations we feel touch the soul, and each time in a different way. Indeed, something different, a single glance, responds to our state of mind and our mood.” His studio, where he creates the works he shows in prestigious solo and group exhibitions, is in Agrigento, the city where he lives. (Giacomo Palermo)
