Giampaolo Talani
Giampaolo Talani wurde am 13. März 1955 in San Vincenzo (Livorno) geboren. Er besuchte das Liceo Artistico (Kunstgymnasium) und anschließend die Accademia di Belle Arti in Florenz, wo er Schüler von Goffredo Trovarelli war.
Als Maler, Grafiker und einer der wenigen zeitgenössischen Meister der Freskotechnik stellte er in New York, Washington, Paris, New Orleans, Innsbruck, Köln, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Beirut und Berlin aus. Seine Werke befinden sich in öffentlichen und privaten Sammlungen in Italien und im Ausland, und in den Vereinigten Staaten wird er sehr geschätzt. Über ihn geschrieben haben unter anderem Vittorio Sgarbi und Umberto Cecchi.
Seine Radierungen aus den Siebziger- und Achtzigerjahren sind im Band La grafica giovane gesammelt. Talani starb am 16. Januar 2018 in Pisa.
