Mark Kostabi
Mark Kostabi nasce in una famiglia di immigrati estoni a Whittier, in California, e studia disegno e pittura alla California State University. Nel 1982 si trasferisce a New York e nel 1984 diventa una figura di riferimento dell'East Village, usando i mass media in modo provocatorio.
Nel 1988 fonda a New York “Kostabi World”, insieme studio, galleria e ufficio. Collabora con Enrico Baj, Howard Finster, Tadanori Yokoo, Enzo Cucchi e Arman, e dal 1996 divide la vita tra New York e Roma.
Le sue figure senza volto e senza tempo, che richiamano i manichini di De Chirico, “possono essere tutti noi e nessuno di noi”. Da noi trovi le sue serigrafie a tiratura limitata, con garanzia di autenticità e cornice su misura realizzata nella nostra bottega di Livorno.
