Born in Lucca in 1946, where he lives and works, Lisandro Rota is a self-taught artist who began painting in 1969. Known as a true “poet of painting”, Rota builds an ironic, cultured and surreal visual universe in which icons of classical myth and historical quotations, such as Leda and the Swan or reinterpretations of Eve, engage with modernity in a playful, irreverent key.

His works, appreciated by critics and collectors in Italy and abroad, stand out for a refined technique and a remarkable ability to move and make people smile through the power of visual storytelling.
